Edinburgh, York and London – three different and beautiful cities

KÖT – On Saturday morning, April 1st, our journey to Great Britain started. At twelve o’clock the next day we arrived at the Scottish border and just a while afterwards we were finally in Edinburgh. There we visited the castle and had an amazing view over the city. The ghost tour in the evening took us through the underground vaults and we learned quite a bit more about the dark history of the city. The next day on our way to the Blair Athol Whiskey Distillery we drove through the beautiful Highlands. We saw the breathtaking landscape and quite a lot of sheep there.

Then we went to York, which impressed with its old little shops, to Oxford to visit the Christ Church College where parts of Harry Potter were filmed. The highlight of the trip was London. The tube was an adventure on its own but we mastered it quite well. And it helped travelling to the different sights. The Tower of London impressed with its history and the Crown Jewels. London at night is beaming with life. Windowshopping was a must for everyone. The city doesn’t sleep and Chinatown at night is something on its own. The trip came to an end too quickly. Friday at noon our time in London came to an end and Saturday morning were we finally back in Köthen.
